True, our DL is light, but our D was in position to make plays, even when the numbers were against us. Still, LSU vs. Bama will be no different in the aspect that the game will not be decided until the 4th quarter. IMO, our D looks to be able to contain Bama's type of O. Key word contain, so dont get your panties in a wad. I am sure Ingram and Richardson will get theirs along with Jones, but I havent seen an Oline Block as good as AU's in a VERY long time. Seriously, maybe the best performance out of an Offensive front in many years. LSU wont have to worry about being burnt on a blitz while in man. LSU wont have to worry about a 250lb QB who drops back but runs and the SIGHT of a hole. SO unless Bama has an equal line and plans to play just as AU did, slim chance, look for nothing less in this game for a close match up.
I'm sorry, Tiger Fans, but Alabama's defense is going to eat us alive. They could probably score 3 and win this one. Auburn's second-half adjustments have provided them the blueprint. I just don't have any optimism left for this O-Line after seeing how they performed against a REAL D-Line and a good scheme...like Bama will bring. We'll...of course...stick to what doesn't work instead of finding ways around it. And we'll have a sub-200 yard day and yet more bitching about GC and Miles. Here's praying for a few turnovers going our way and allowing us to kick a few feild goals! Jesus...I'm already mourning the "loss" and we haven't even played yet...:bncry: IDK...the boys might come out and surprise me. Who knows?
Not bad, but not great..... Do you feel your O is great? Above average? Seems to me that Bama is just getting it done which is all that matters.
Just showing up for the debate. LSU, having an internal discussion on their inner demons of LSU football and coaching decisions is hardly both sides of the issue. Just trying to help. I'd love for our offense to pass the ball with more reflexive memory and be less worried about mistakes. Throw on breaks and stop waiting for receivers to get open. I'm waiting for Julio to threaten G-Mac with bodily harm if he just doesn't throw the freakin ball. With one on one coverage, which we have seen all year, just throw the ball, get in rhythm and let these play makers get the ball. If we're going to run, then get wide outs off the field and the tight ends in the game and quit going unbalanced with opposing defenses and start running over people. We can do both well, but if we're trying to be whatever the defense is (trying) to take away, especially with different offensive schemes, it's nuts. Bama looks like they are still trying to figure it out. Personnel wise, Auburn can't touch the caliber of athletes coming to BR.
So, let me get this straight. You were insulted that some here called Bama's offense merely "decent," then just argued that your offense is, in fact, merely decent. I believe our point is that our defense can and will get after McElroy, and when that happens, your decent offense will struggle. LSU's best chances in this game reside in the possibility of a defensive score. Our offense is not decent--something which is incredibly frustrating.
the question for Alabama is their offensive line, and unfortunately their quarterback. They have a great tight end, 2 monsters at tailback, 1 monster at the receiver position, and another above average receiver. If Fluker isn't back that is another question mark on their line. McElroy, while he is a winner, he isn't a quarterback in my opinion, that can just take over a game against a quality opponent. As far as LSU's offense. It sucks, there is no debate.
Auburn can't touch the caliber of athletes that Bama has but South Carolina can? I'm not using the transitivie property and saying since they beat you we can too, but saying that Auburn can't touch your caliber of players is just a little far fetched don't you think?
My girlfriend graduated from LSU, so this is on my top visited sites due to her. Just enjoy reading a message board or two when I get a break from work.
SC, no. Auburn, no. Without the dominate QB, you wouldn't have brought it up. The sum total of athletes on both side of the ball are not comparable.
