It's a new language. Shakespeare I think. To Be or Not to Be.

Snyder's scheme against Auburn was closing down as much as they could between the tackles. They did to a great degree and it resulted in holding Auburn to that 128 number. There was one drive where Auburn just wore out their front seven (end of 3rd.)

Point is, their (KSU) defense was all about gap control and the right angles. They did pretty well I thought with their concentration being on run defense focused on inside running.

Then LSU may be in trouble. The defensive line is big, strong, and athletic, but green as grass. They haven't learned enough about defense at this level.

I feel quite comfortable saying that if I asked most of the current LSU football players the same question I asked Red, they would ALL know what I meant, and reply in terms close to those he used!:D

LSU has to control the trenches on both sides of the ball to win this game for sure. If it's the basic I-formation and Auburn has the box loaded, then it's doubtful on offense. With a more spread out offense with Harris under center or the shotgun definitely gives us more chances. As somebody else said earlier on this topic LSU has to try to force Auburn to throw the ball. Would be nice to see LSU create a few 3rd and long for them. A couple early turnovers would be nice also to get the crowd out of the game. Auburn LSU games are usually dog fights and something crazy happens. It could come down to special teams.

In order for us to win this game, we must committ to stuffing the run early - on 1st and 2nd down. Just like K St did. That was the formula.

Then on offense, we must mix it up on 1st and 2nd down. Just like we did with Harris in the game. I liked the tempo we played with.

    This is a low-scoring game if ---

1.) Auburn isn't what we thought they were
2.) We do a great job on 1st and 2nd down
3.) We control their run game
4.) We get at least 2 turnovers
    5.) We start slow offensively

    This is a high-scoring game if ---
1.) We're as soft up front Saturday as we've been so far
2.) If Welter is on the field and constantly in the wrong gap
3.) If their QB makes his throws
4.) If Harris gets it going and we play with tempo and urgency

LSU loses this game if ---

    1.) We can't stop Auburn's running game
2.) WE start out sloppy on offense; penalties, turnovers, lethargic
3.) We lose the turnover battle
4.) Or we get gassed up front late
5.) IF we start AJ and leave him in there too long
