First half: LSU 10, Auburn 7. Final Score: LSU 24, Auburn 10. Emotion and home field advantage keep it close for a half. Big plays and better QB play open in up in the second half. The score will be closer than the stats, which will tilt significantly towards LSU.
I think it hinges on two things. Our young secondary not giving up to many big plays due to inexperience, and the offense being able to be somewhat balanced. If the QB's don't at least have moderate success to relieve some of the pressure on the running game, we could be in trouble. We can't just run, Auburn's defense is too good for us to get away with being one dimensional. A kick off or punt return for a score would be huge. LSU-13 AU - 10
Colt David has a big game with two clutch kicks. His range may very well be tested. Batty knows! 16-10
Although I can't see us dominating with the passing game, I don't see us being one dimensional. I say between the two QBs, we'll complete 45-50% of our passes with two TD's and a pick...and it takes a complete quarter of nerves for them to settle in and start getting any consistency. I look for the QB play to be better in the second half and pull away with balance and ball/clock control. They will grow up in a hurry. Look back at our last two games and overall QB play improved a LOT between the two games. 45% completions is easily believable and with minimum INT's and our uber-talented receivers it will be just enough to add balance and get the job done.
