Jonathan, i don't see anything wrong with that shirt (coming from a 24 year old), but many may have a problem with it. I used to have a shirt that had a little boy flipping the bird and said "Hey Auburn, Geaux &$@# Yourself", so maybe im not the best at critiquing palatable gameday attire.

My 2 cents on the shirt. It doesn't really personally offend most people (not much anyway), but its bad idea jeans b/c you're providing fuel for the Auburn Fan Idiot Train that gets rolling every year before game time.

If you're on this board, or any other for that matter, I'm sure you're familiar with the oh so very righteous and upstanding Auburn faithful. Each year they travel down to Baton Rouge to witness our shameful, hedonistic behavior, then run back to the cow pasture and tell everybody how they barely escaped with their lives. I guarantee you that if you wear that shirt on game day, you'll be reading about it on the internet the next day. LSU fans will be indiscriminately demonized and you will be held personally responsible for corrupting thousands of innocent Auburn children.

A big part of me thinks you should wear it just for that reason, b/c Auburn fans and their stories/attitudes are so ridiculous. But the more mature part of me says its better not to provoke a teeming throng of idiots, so I'd advise against it.

well...the only games I do attend are away games lately. I know I would not wear a shirt like this personally (I like to mingle with the enemy on the road and eat their food/drink their beer), but I have regularly seen the KOC/RPH on the trips and they are fairly civil folks....choice of shirts withstanding.

to me, this shirt evokes images of Limp Bizkit or the And 1 logo from the basketball world. I think you can do better....plus, the front of the shirt is too gawdy....tone the font down a bit.

First off, I don't care one way or another if the shirt gets made. I think it is a pretty funny idea and thats really all i think about the shirt itself. The crazy thing is that there is even a debate over whether or not it is appropriate!! You people sound absolutely hilarious!

According to many, the following conversation could really happen in 5 years:

Baton Rouge Phsycologist: "What happened to little Johnny? When did everything go wrong? How did he end up such a violent, obscene child?"

Baton Rouge Parent: "Well, it all started at the 2005 Auburn game when he was 8 years old and saw those damned kids wearing that shirt with the fellow grabbing his crotch...."

For those who said the shirt was classless, or that it upset them, or that it offended them, or that they would be afraid of what others in public would think...(all who were against the shirt, i.e. - offended by it)..Let me ask, why?

Would you look at your friends in awe at the lack of class displayed? Loosen up people! Who is getting hurt here by the shirt design? No one!

of·fen·sive - adj. --> Causing anger, displeasure, resentment, or affront.

I know that you were asked your opinions...and the way you feel is the way you feel...and the input was surely appreciated....but what Im trying to get at in this post is trying to figure out why in fact those who were in disagreement with the shirt found themselves coming to that conclusion.

Can't people nowadays simply look at something like this gameday shirt without trying to figure out why not to like...without wondering first what the FCC would say about it?

While I'll agree with the general perception that the crotch-grabbing figure is, by modern definition, a little obscene in its own way....

Is it really harsh enough to evoke unpleasant feelings?

As grown adults, can we not handle a picture of a guy grabbing his crotch?

Liking or not Liking the shirt is one thing...but do you really have that low of a level of control over your emotions to actually progress towards becoming offended by a design on a shirt? You would really disapprove of seeing that shirt at an SEC football game? In considering it, why do you automatically have to try to determine in which ways it might be deemed "untasteful"....who the heck cares?

Seriously...take a huge step back...I want those of you that said they didn't approve of the design to really think about this here:

Of all the horrible things going on in the world...you are telling me that if you went to an LSU game, were walking around the world-famous gameday environment that we have at LSU, and in the midst of the building tension that is only a typical SEC gameday tailgating experience in Baton Rouge...you saw a few guys wearing this shirt walk by...you would be offended?

I'm not buying the point about disrespecting the opposing fans...Most of the away fans I've hung out with would laugh, appreciate the conversation piece, and take it for what it is...a shirt expressing exaggerated views about a rival's coach, who, coincedentally, by his own behavior brought the whole very concept of the shirt into being!

I am not buying the point about upsetting children...If it should happen that your kid would see the said shirt, AND notice the slightly obscene picture...are you not confident enough in yourself as a parent that you will be able to prevent their lives from spiraling out of control, and towards a life of violence and crotch grabbing?

The only reason I could accept as a sensible case of offense, is if your grandmother was offended by the shirt...If this was the case, than I agree...the shirt is GARBAGE! TRASHY! INDECENT!

In closing, I would like to reiterate the fact that I am not attacking anyone personally...but simply wondering, for real, how someone can really be offended. If you still think the shirt is inappropriate, then do tell me why, so I can try to better understand you all.

I don't disagree with you, but can you really argue about what is offensive and what is not offensive to someone? I think it's kind of like arguing with someone about what their favorite color is. It is what it is...

Beyond that, most people will always jump at the opportunity to make a mountain out of a crawfish hill...
