On the mound for Tennessee today is left-handed junior Nicholas Angel Hernandez, who was taken by the Oakland A's in the 2006 MLB draft. He's from Florida, where he was first-team All-State. His father, Nicolas Hernandez, was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the first round (eighth overall) in the 1978 MLB draft. His uncle, Angel Hernandez, has been an MLB umpire for 13 years and worked the 2005 World Series. He's #6 in the SEC (#1 on the Tennessee team) in innings pitched this year, with 51. Nick Hernandez #47 of University of Tennessee, on the mound for the Cotuit Kettleers baseball team 2008. Nick was also a Cape Cod Baseball League All Star.
