I can easily see LSU getting swept this weekend. It seems to me the Tigers are in big trouble this Year. SEC will be brutal to LSU! (I hope Im wrong). It will take CM at least 2 more years to bring the Tigers back towards the top of the SEC. IMHO Tigers will never dominate college baseball like they did in the 90's. (The college game has changed too much for a dynasty)
You need to be a  fan in Mississippi to understand what I am talking about. Col Reb is the only Ole Miss fan that I like:lol:
Check this out. http://www.goldeneagles.net/ Says they have won 10 of the last 15 against Moo St., and 5 of the last 7 against lefire: . Maybe they don't hold the all time advantage over lefire: or Moo St., but I know neither of those schools will play 'em anymore.:thumb: By the way, you need to click on "tradition" under the football section of men's athletics, on the right side of the page.
We're going today. Started all the stuff on this thread about my wife being a USM employee and Ole Miss grad, and now she isn't even going! Just my son, and my nephew and I, along with about 12 other friends. Oh well, I'll be looking for some support still, as a lot of my friends are USM fans. See ya' there.:thumb:
i saw things last night that made me hopeful. there were some good defensive plays made. the diving catch that wags made with the throw to first catching the runner off to end the game with a dp was great! southern miss generally has a pretty good team. i was more than pleased with the win. now let's go do it again!
Only 4 hits last night. Batting .233 for the year. SEC play starts next weekend. If the bats don't come alive soon, this will get ugly in SEC play.
It's funny in retrospect to read the posts after last nights 2-1 win. Of course by now we know that the bats did come alive today! My son and I had a great time at the game, along with MOST of our firends. We wound up sitting behind a high school baseball team from about 10 miles away from our town. They were of course rooting for USM. My son became addicted to the lemonade that they sell at The Box, and accidentally spilled his 3rd cup down one of the high schoolers backs. (they were very nice about it) After that, they decided it was time to go, as LSU was up 15-4 at the time.:thumb: My nephew also enjoyed the game, and enjoyed seeing his old teammate Blake Dean starting for the Tigers. Blake didn't do that much at the plate today, but did have a deep sac fly to plate a run. All in all, we enjoyed the experience, and my son is still talking about it. For me, I'm just happy the bats came alive, and in the midst of all the USM fans, I was able to enjoy a quiet afternoon! They didn't have much to say after the 2nd inning!:geauxtige
