We had a legitimate shot. Can't help we missed out on a few prospects that had us in their final 2/3.

Definitely been the best year of recruiting in LSU history from that standpoint, and 2nd place isn't even close. I have never seen LSU in the final 2 or final 3 of so many highly touted players.

Looks like Burfict will be decommitting due to academics and commit to ASU tomorrow. Some USC poster on TD said it.

Why is bama 4 in rivals, but much lower in ESPN and Scout? Is is really true that rivals is run by a bama grad??

Well that part is true, but Mike S claims there is absolutely no bias towards Alabama.

Average rankings of Bama recruits on the various services do support a conspiracy theory, however.

A USC poster who lives in Baton Rouge. You're killing me.

Well VB will be hosting PC today so it's a bit premature to project him one way or the other until that visit takes place. Burfict did say he would notify both coaches by tomorrow of his decision.

Burfict is taking online classes and final grades won't be available for several months so his decision will be made without benefit of knowing whether he qualifies. At this point, it's a question of academic support. His mom believes he'll get more of it at ASU. Two of Burfict's former HS teammates who struggled academically are doing "well" at ASU (they are both undeclared majors and one is a sophomore) so mom believes the school is responsible. I guess it's also possible that he is uncertain if he'll qualify for USC and doesn't want to take the chance in waiting that long and missing a schollie offer from the Sun Devils.

If his decision revolves around football, I think he picks USC. If mom prevails then I believe he'll be a Sun Devil. Either way, he's a great player and either school will get a good one.

You really think Florida has a chance? I have it playing out like this right now...

    Locks:
    Jelani Jenkins, Joshua Evans

    Good Chance:
    Jarvis Jones

    50/50:
    Trent Richardson, Marlon Brown

If they got all 5 there, then yeah, I could see us in the top spot. I see us getting 4/5 (missing on one of the 50/50's) and ending in the top five, but not ahead of LSU, USC, or OSU.

    OH, on Burfict:

If he gets his grades right, he's a Trojan. If not, he's a Sun Devil. That's all it's coming down to from what I hear.

If you get 4 of those 5, then UF will certainly finish no worse than 4th, way ahead of OSU by nearly 200 points.

So it looks like in all probability that we won't win the recruiting battle. I also thought Jelani Jenkins was favoring Penn St.
