TCU has been very successful, but is not a big school. Their stadium doesn't seat very many & they sure don't have a large audience. LSU needed to get some games in Texas. They want to increase their visibility there. It's not as big of a name school as some would like, but it's a very quality opponent & LSU deserves credit for taking them on.
TCU is a solid team but far from a very good team. If Miles has us playing well, we shouldnt have a proble
I would prefer A & M, but the sources in Texas say that just isn't going to happen. As a resident of the DFW Metroplex, I would love for LSU to play TCU. All four members of my little family will definitely attend with full purple and gold regalia. As for Amon Carter Stadium, I would say it's probably nicer than Mississippi State's or Ole Miss' stadiums. The Fort Worth Bowl is played there, for instance. It's not a dump, and Fort Worth is a fun town. I would have no problem with it being in the new Cowboys' stadium, either, but I think ACS is getting a bad rap here.
That question about Fran is a very interesting one. At this point, it's beginning to look like he was more of a product of having excellent players (i.e. Ladainian Tomlinson, Alabama's athletes) than being an excellent coach.
I'm sure, if LM actually visited our fair website, that he'd appreciate the vote of confidence. If LM is still prowling the LSU sideline 7 years from now, I'd be estatic. Why? Because that means he's won big and won consistently. Works for me. :thumb:
Could be Gary Patterson by then. As for where the game will be played, TCU AD says it is ACS..........that is today, if the day ever comes where you have to sit where your ticket is then perhaps the new stadium in Arlington will be the choice. I do know this, I have been to 48 football games in the last 4 years, all over this country and BY FAR, Reliant Stadium in Houston is the best facility I have been too. Hopefully Jones, makes the Cowboys new "digs" even better. BTW, for those that STILL don't understand why this game can benefit LSU.........At one point in this recruiting season, Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama had future QB's coming from right here in the metroplex. Now, you add Tenn, since the Ole Miss guy changed his mind, scratch Florida for Texas, but still have the Texas 5A POY after playing QB for 1 year going to Alabama, and the 4A Div 1 St Champ QB still going to Georgia. The number of STUD football players in this area THIS YEAR is outstanding. Both 5A and 4A state champions are in this area with something like 2 total losses between 4 teams. People in LA will see the HS facilities around here and DEMAND better facilities for HS athletes in LA as well.
