Guess they had to make USC's AP trophy look as close to the :crystal: LSU got in '03....then they changed it to the one we got last week. ;)

I'm pretty sure it's an LSU fan site. If you go to the shopping part of the website, they sell Les Miles "Fear the Hat" shirts, as well as pro-SEC shirts. Besides, Texas has nothing to be bitter at USC for. Texas is the team that ended USC's 2003-2005 reign of terror. If anything, Texas would be in favor of making USC 03'-05' look great, being they were the ones that finally beat them.

Like somebody else on here mentioned, he hated Joe Montana during all the years he beat the Saints, and it wasn't until later that he admitted how great Joe Montana was. That's how I was with USC. Sure, LSU didn't enjoy too much of the limelight after we won the 2003 BCS Coaches Trophy, being that we were overshadowed by USC '03-'05, one of the greatest teams in history. Remember how stacked USC was -- they had three players finish in the Heisman voting five times (Matt Leinart finished #6 in 2003, #1 in 2004 and #3 in 2005, Reggie Bush finished #5 in 2004 and #1 in 2005, WR Mike Williams finished #8 in 2003).

In 2003, USC lost to California in 3OT early in the season. After that, they just went around dominating everybody they played, including Notre Dame (45 to 14), Washington (43 to 23), Washington State (43 to 16), Arizona (45 to 0), UCLA (47 to 22), and finally Michigan in the Rose Bowl (28-14). They finish the season ranked #1 in the AP (and won the AP Trophy). In 2004, they were #1 every week of the entire season, going 13-0, and beating teams such as Arizona State (45 to 7), Washington (38 to 0), Washington State (42 to 12), Arizona (49 to 9), Notre Dame (41 to 10), and finally Oklahoma in the national championship (55 to 19). Then in 2005, they were #1 every week of the entire season, going undefeated again, beating teams like Arkansas (70 to 17), Oregon (45 to 13), Arizona (42 to 21), Washington (51 to 24), Washington State (55 to 13), and UCLA (66 to 19). Finally, their reign of terror came to an end when Vince Young and the 'Horns took them down 38 to 41 in the NC. But USC's 33 consecutive appearances at #1 in the AP Poll shattered the previous all-time record of 21 (set by Miami '01-'02).

Sure, that wasn't fun as an LSU fan being in the shadow of USC, even after we won the 2003 BCS Coaches Trophy. I hated USC at the time. But now, there is nobody overshadowing LSU. This time, LSU is on top of the world.

Selling it on EBAY! Great idea! It could make up the shortfall in the budget and pay CLM's salary increase so the fans don't have to pay a ticket price increase!! Or maybe we could sell it to Mark Richt.

Honestly, that's not a bad idea. I think that would be a classy move on LSU's part. After all, Mark Richt's Georgia program (2001-present) is the best program in the NCAA that hasn't won a National Title.
