Saban, Pistol Pete, Skip Bertman.....are locks. Can't really put a 4th up there. Had Shaq won a NC while at LSU, I would have to put him up there, but then maybe we would be saying the same thing about Dale Brown or even Chris Jackson. I don't see the infatuation with Charlie Mac. Yeah he is a legend at LSU. But for someone who was famous for going 8-3 and 7-4 every year, I am not sure why he is so heralded. He was basically Paul Bear Bryant's whipping boy. Dietzel left LSU to go take up the head coaching job at Army after winning a NC. A blundering move on his part. Does not deserve to be on that monument.
You could always put Pat Henry up there but despite all his NCs how many of us would even recognize the man if he was sitting next to you at the bar?
Yeah I think we need to put up someone like Pat Henry up there. Excellent suggestion. LSU track is as dominating in the same sense as LSU baseball has been in the past 15 years. Again Sue Gunter is a legend of sorts at LSU, but she is the Charlie Mac of women's basketball. No hardware to show for all those years.
Fairly well, that has to be the understatemnt of the century! Has there ever been a better college track coach? :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
