Well I see that jerk wearing the LSU shirt has worked his way into the front row. He's probably rooting for Bama.
I was trying to tell who he was for. Seems to be cheering for both. Really not cheering, just an attn whore, really. If he kept standing up in front of me after every pitch I’d have to ask him to stop. That fuggar looks like a mule too, so I’d hope he was nice as he is nuts. But as much as he’s irritated our fans all season, to go do that at a game his sister was nit even in, shows he must not know better.
Another difference between the two conferences. You don't have a tournament in the PAC is one, the other being it's my understanding when the SEC gives out its awards they don't award the same player twice in the *big three.* (POTY. Frosh OTY, and Pitcher OTY.) It's not an open line to the dugout during games but close enough to have a conversation without everyone hearing. It's such an intimate atmosphere at times. I have no problems, at all, with Harris-Champer mentioning that to "Blue" before the game started. If I were in her shoes, I do the same thing. How different is it than a MLB manager mentioning a pitchers motion if he thinks he'll get a balk? I'm aware of coaches mentioning after the 1st inning for "Blue" to watch Elissa Brown (lead off, slapper) for stepping out of the box. She's having a bit of a time breaking that habit. For me, illegal pitches aren't something that leads to points of contention but it certainly leaves me in a state of confusion. That's no different from a strike zone that changes within a game or an inning. (Within a bat? Yeah, that's a different story.) As example, I've watched Barnhill in the circle for four years now. It's a hop, skip, jump routine with her just about every pitch. Yet, seldom called. However, beating Florida under Walton (including without her in the circle) comes down to your pitching. They've been an offensive juggernaut in his tenure with the long ball. Speaking of "getting in their heads." I haven't seen a team that melts down as quickly, across the board, as the Gators. One game came to mind while typing ... Bama v UF, Barnhill on the mound, early on. A bunt between Barnhill and the third baseman (playing about 3/4 back) and she fumbled around fielding the ball. Safe at first by the time she turned her head around. Next batter same thing...overthrown by Barnhill and they're on the corners. A walk. And then a third bunt in the same place with a late thrown. That game was over. It was the second or third inning, no one had scored, and you knew it was over. 'Twas. Sorry. Stream of consciousness typing ... Montana Fouts goes by Tana. In sports as a whole, it's one of the most enjoyable weekends for me. It ranks with your major events including professional. With the SEC, the first four years were in Columbus, GA before moving to different campus sites three years later (Chatt. for 2yrs.) Interesting to me is since the SEC started its softball the tournament has only been won by the host team one time; 2003 - 2019.
I knew some team did. I saw a thread or two discussing it while surfing around but no one seemed to know where it originated. As an aside, call it a softball tide-bit. The NCAA dropped that rule after round one in the DIIWCWS...North Texas had just been shutout by UNA. 2016, as I recall.
