I think we can all agree with that.

I agree, muck to do about nothing. Of course Flynn is the front runner but hasn't been named the starter. The off season is tough on sports reporters too or so it seems.

This is exactly why coaches are so guarded about everything they say. One off handed comment and the media has already set the fall 3 deep chart at the QB position. :dis:

I thinks it's pretty much common knowledge that Flynn (the #2 QB) would be the front runner to move up to the #1 spot. What is the shocker here? Anyone that interprets the comment as, "there will be no completion for the starting job and Flynn gets the spot no mater what" is an idiot.

My bet is that Perrilloux read or got wind of what was said & was upset because he was probably told he would get a fair shot at being the starter - so they are doing some damage control.

Shouldn't any inter team concerns like that be handed via internal conversations between player and coach? I'm hoping that Perrilloux is not basing his future playing time on LSU press releases.

Sure, but coming right after the negative press about federal investigations, Miles' public remarks might have made him feel publicly chastised. I suspect the football department is making a public attempt to let folks know that Perrilloux is right in the mix.
