I've found that Louisianians (including non-LSU students/alum) especially like to sport LSU gear when they go out of state to represent where they are from. I suppose it's cooler to wear an LSU hat that lets people know than buying a tshirt that says "LOUISIANA" on it. Yea, definitely cooler.

A large part of getting in the top 10 is the support we receiver from the state of Louisiana. But the population of Louisiana is pretty small compared to alot of other states & basically every state has a major school that could represent them, so it's more than just Louisianians buying LSU stuff. And that's what I want. I want some kid from North Dakota (or other obscure state no one cares about) to catch an LSU game on TV & be a fan, wearing purple & gold to school & making LSU his/her favorite team.

still, most of the big name schools who are amongst the top share the state with other major schools. LSU doesnt. I believe that really helps when the majoritty of the state is a fan. Not to mention those casuals who are not die hards but still buy the stuff to fit in.

I sport LSU gear at least 3 of the 5 days in the work week.

It always sparks a conversation, or a insult/comment.

yesterday some guy said "LSU?!? man you need to be wearing a florida shirt"

which I responded to with : "youre a florida fan?"

    he nods

I say: "wow must suck to not have put a dent in the SEC in 8 years."

haha, his face was priceless, only because I was wearing the "2003 National champions" t-shirt.

I love wearing LSU gear. Shows state and team pride.

My Command Master Chief (highest enlisted rank in the Navy) is from Tennessee and we have gotten into straight up smack talk while in the gym between workouts before. I told him if tenn. won against LSU this year I'd buy him a six pack of whatever his favorite beer was, and wear a tennessee shirt the following week. If LSU wins, I get his parking spot right in front of the ship for a week... hahaha... tigers better win!

When my parents travel during the summer, my mom will usually wear LSU gear. They've had people from as far away as Buffalo, New York, and Pennsylvania spot the LSU stuff and say how much they love the Tigers.

Our traditions really do stick out to a lot of people--and just being from Louisiana, in general, is interesting to people. They find out you're from Louisiana, and they have a million questions--yes, many of them based on stereotypes, but we are interesting to them.

Also, since the national championship, I find LSU gear all over the Dallas area, moreso than prior to '03.

My FedEx driver once asked me if I wore anything but purple.

I love wearing LSU stuff in Oklahoma. After the Sugar Bowl, I thought I was gonna have to have a body guard, but that just made it all the better. :crystal:

I think he means they dominate in merchandising. Sounds like scrappy is a Jim Rome wannabe (black man in a white man's body).
