I wonder who is the other coach that voted for Northern Illinois? There is something crooked going on here....

It's not the first time LSU beat out USC by a small margin...bad memories for them

Number one and number two, here we go. Always exciting to get the season cranked up. Stanford and Okie light, standing at the far end of the top 20 with the Sooners in their familiar spot to once again fail to live up to expectations. Alabama has got the Marquee opener this time around with top ten Michigan and it ain't even close. Win this one against the Wolverines and Bama is in the passing lane to number one. Not that that's always a good thing, necessarily. After that it's Tennessee vs North Carolina State in Atlanta and Clemson and the barn. Yep, that's about it. Please america, start scheduling some decent games to watch in these openers. Like watching spring practice with a half time show.

There are a lot of other 'won't last long' teams. South Carolina in the top 10? Stanford without Luck?

Ohio State is on probation and can't be ranked.

Wow, we get to be #1 for a week.

Then Bama plays Mich and we drop below them and USC...

I didn't even notice Michigan #8. Are you kidding me???? The last time I saw maize and blue or whatever they are, they were LUCKING OUT in what should have taken 15 horseshoes to pull off. They won in OT 23-20 after being outplayed all over the field by Virginia Tech. First Downs VT 22 MI 12 Total Yards VT 377 MI 184 Time of Possession: VT 37 min MI 23 I watched the entire game but I can't remember the details except I think VT missed some FGs. But how in the heck do you score 23 points on a total offense of 184 yards? o_O And VT even won return yards!
