Really not sure it is still wide open IMO.

I think he has the size to play SDE, but Adams and Montgomery should terrorize the QB from the otherside. I think it is wide open as well, some very excellent talent at the position this year.

The other Tigerrag article talking to Kelvin Sheppard and Mo Claiborne

TigerRag - Defense first: Sheppard, then Claiborne

If you watch that video, the WRs are staring holes into the nose of the football. Looks like a good drill. So far, I like what I see of Gonzales.

I think our boys could always catch. I will just be happy if some of them get open this year, which would be a big improvement. Gonzalez seems to be focused and I like it.

Quite a few drops last year. Lafell had problems until his Junior year. Bowe likewise. Our boys haven't really always been able to catch. TT had his own issues last season, and with Shep, I think it's VERY critical for him to learn how to catch. Our boys have always been fast and slippery, though.

I agree. I don't think it was a lack of catching ability, so much as a lack of concentration and focus. Gonzales seems to be having a positive impact so far.

We averaged about 2 drops a game last year and many of those were on 3rd down drive killers. We can't have that this year. We need to keep the QB confident and the offense as a whole confident.
