I'm sure a lot of you see that some stories that appear on various team boards such as Tiger Forums, eventually find their way to local and sometimes National press.
Well after visiting several rival's boards (wearesc) in particular, we are now officially a laughing stock.

Thank you so much Radsaawhatever and Appafkingst. :cuss:

What other teams were asking for a home and home?

If they were big-time teams, I would have been all for playing a USC-type team for 2 consecutive years

I have not read this entire thread, so I apologize if this has already been said -- could it be that it is difficult to find a quality 1-A opponent that is willing to come into Death Valley, and is not workable to do a home and home?

Not to throw fuel on this fire...aw hell, of *course* I'm throwing fuel on this fire by posting the following:

Fearless Fresno Willing to Take On USC (one game, no home and home)

    Excerpt:

I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that USC's strength of schedule will be higher in 2005 than it was in either 2003 or 2004. No reason to think, thanks to the coaches of these teams, that Notre Dame, Arizona and Washington won't improve, Fresno St. has made a reputation of taking on the big boys (and occasionally knocking them off) and they play Oregon at Oregon and Cal at Cal.

(PS-Also, what's with this noise about other teams willing to play LSU on Nov. 5 but couldn't get permission to break previously-set games?

Permission? How steep, for example, can the buyout clause be for, say, the Idaho-UNLV game this September. I'd say if LSU had to cut a check to a school for $425,000 instead of $400,000 in order to schedule a Div 1A team would have been money well spent this season. UNLV has yet to set their dates and Idaho is open on Nov. 5. You couldn't, say, entice the Runnin' Rebs to get another fat SEC paycheck by going to Baton Rouge in 2005?)

charles has always been that way. its his personality. while i think he does baseball well, I still do not like his often monotone, seemingly negative outlook on life which comes across his broadcasts at times. Though when he's out of that rut, as we noted earlier a couple of weeks ago, he is very good.
