Even though I'm not too happy about playing a I-AA team this year keep this in mind, in Nick Saban's first 4 years there was a I-AA opponent on the schedule (Western Carolina x 2, Utah St & The Citadel). Last year was the only year of Saban's tenure that we didn't play a I-AA opponent.

Well almost. W Car. was once and W. Illni was another. Utah St was in their first year of D-1 football when we played them, very close to D1-AA. I don't think anyone is making this a reflection of Miles, it's a Radakovich issue. The guys is not good at football scheduling.

regardless if there was nothing that could be done, I still say its unacceptable to add Hillbilly U to the schedule. find a way to add southern, give them the money. inexcusable.

Since so many people are talking about LSU playing McNeese or Southern...

I've heard that both schools have basically begged LSU for a game, but that LSU has always refused. Someone mentioned that the Mayor thinks a Southern/LSU game unify the city... I don't think that's right. It seems like it could actually create more tension. I already hear that the black people at LSU & at Southern don't get along, but I think right now the schools basically ignore each other. It seems a game could create a real rivalry rather than just a disinterest in each other. Same thing goes with McNeese but probably to a lesser extent.

LSU playing a DivI-AA team???? Say it ain't so!!!!! :hihi: :hihi:

Nah, seriously guys, I'm sure this has already been said as I'm not reading a 7 page thread about friggin App St....but this is all about money. You wouldn't have all these facilities if you didn't generate revenue from your sports programs. And you wouldn't get the revenue if you were playing on the road all the time. Afterall, the school doesn't pay for it. What sucks is that fact that the fans have to pay to see such a boring game. I hate it but this is the business.

Auburn's SOS finished at #5 last year with a 1AA on the schedule...LSU won a NC with a 1AA on the schedule. USC plays in the PUS10. Nuff said...f*ck USC! [IMG]

We could at least make it interesting for the fans. Rest all of our starters and play App. State with our back ups. At least that would give the game some intrigue. If our back ups had alot of trouble, you could always put the starters in.

The good news is our season has always exceeded expectations since 2000 when we played a IAA team and failed to reach expectations when we didn't.

    2000 win the Peach

2001 win the SEC and Sugar

2003 win the SEC and the NC

    2005 ?

2002 offense implodes when Randall has to come in for injured Mauck -- lose Cotton

2004 have to play the whole season without a passing game because Randall is the quarterback and Russell is not prepared to read defenses -- lose the Capital One
