As a Cowboys fan (due to geography), I'm super-excited that Mo is going to Dallas!

Mo will clearly step in and start for us here in Dallas. Great opportunity for him to be a major star in the NFL.

Awesome for Mo, glad he didn't end up in Tampa. Sorry for Michael that he ended up in St. Louis, but that defense is going to be a good one. Can someone please explain to me why Trent Richardson went 3rd? What a waste of a pick. Yes he is a great running back, but drafting a running back in the first round is like taking your pick, crumbling it up, lighting it on fire and throwing it away.

I agree for the most part but Richardson really is a talent. Some teams still have premier backs that carry a lot of the workload. It's certainly a gamble but Richardson is as close to a sure thing as you can get in an RB in my opinion.

I'm sorry but it has been proven, time and time again, that you can find value at the running back position in the late rounds. Running backs average about 3 to 4 years in the league. They take more hits than anyone. I don't care if this dude is the next coming of Jim Brown, 3 is way too high. Just like the Saints moving up to take Ingram. That was a waste of a pick. I mean look at what they had and where they got it. Sean Payton of all people should know this. Pierre Thomas undrafted, Chris Ivory undrafted, Darren Sproles 4th round pick. I would take all 3 of those guys over Mark Ingram. It's a huge reach to take a running back these days in the first round. I don't care because it's the Browns and they will never be worth a damn, but Holmgren should know better.

You are correct. Any special player, is a difference maker, at any position. Trent is all of that. You don't pay attention to the backfield, he is gone. You blitz too much and he catches a dink 5 yard pass on the screen and he is gone. Just as Peterson of the Vikings is so dangerous, Trent will be a player that demands the opposing defense pay more than the usual attention. In space or in heavy traffic, this running back can hurt you. That makes Trent a difference maker and worthy of number 3, going at number 3.

No one is arguing that Trent is an unbelievable talent. What I am saying is that taking a running back in the first round is a reach, no matter who the running back. This was not the case 5 to 10 years ago.
