serving Jury duty this week, and was almost chosen for sequestered jury, I thought about this case a lot because the case brought before us was a manslaughter case, with the state having the burden of proof as the prosecution. The defense attorney was making sure we understood as jurors, that defense did not necessarily need to speak to defend itself. Basically he was saying if the State can't prove it, there is no need for us to speak potentially, which is pretty much the way I see Fisher playing this. If there was any tangible or circumstantial proof then I believe arrests would have already been made.
Seriously, has there ever been a bar fight in Baton Rouge that has gotten this much attention by the police? This is ridiculous. Yesterday, the chief of police made it a point to say that the players wouldn't be getting any special treatment because they're football players. Well, it appears that the alleged victims are getting special treatment because the alleged assailants are football players. You can't tell me that this "investigation" would be dragging on and on like this if it were just a group of regular a-holes and frat boys (not that there's any difference). Bienvenu was the prosecutor for that trial? Sorry, but with all the press that trial received, it would have been harder not to get a conviction. Those cops had no chance.
