Yes, it's time to cut bait with the players if we have enough info or come to their defense. Do something.

I was pretty opinionated yesterday about lack of leadership on the team due to this incident. Maybe i was wrong. This could have been a "bonding" experience for the team. 10:30 does sound pretty early for a curfew with nothing going on on Friday. Everyone made it back to check in for Curfew. The other upside is there is not one single report of any football players being drunk or acting a fool that late at night. Hmmmmm...

I've been thinking along the same lines. Four guys go out and get in trouble, you've got 4 renegades. If half the team went out, I'm wondering why the other half didn't go as well?

Why is everyone so damned worked up of the curfew thing? That's just team rule. Normally no one would even know about a broken curfew it would just be handled internally.

The real issue is the potential felony assault charges people. Fells like yall are concerned with a parking violation while folks are getting shot across the street.

50 players is a lot. It could have 70? Miles said it was the whole team.

And I am not sure there were any renegades. Try this...

Some of the players are standing around outside talking to girls and hanging out in the parking lot (not drinking), and some guy in a big truck blows the horn and yells at them to move. The players say no, so the driver gets out of truck and a heated verbal confrontation happens. From there things happen really fast, a little shoving and slapping, the driver's friends run over to get involved and next think you know someone is on the ground bleeding and the players are pulling each other back. Everyone knows they are players and rumors and innuendos begin.

I can see where they ALL snuck out together and this thing got out of hand really quickly (no time for team leaders to diffuse the situation). If it were not for the accusation that someone kicked someone in the head, this would be a much smaller issue.

I was more upset with the breaking of curfew because it shows a blatant disrespect for the coaching staff by team leaders. The fight was a byproduct of breaking curfew. Bad choices tend to lead to bad things happening.

But if this was an approved curfew breaking tradition, then the curfew thing is not that bad. Breaking curfew could have been viewed as a team building exercise at the end of a long, hot and productive preseason camp.

If it was a simple fight there would be little chance of felony charges. But when you kick someone in the face while he is laying on the ground the chance that the DA can look the other way is slim.

Nah, I wouldn't got that far Red. I think anybody who saw Les' demeanor last week knows that he doesn't stand for that type behavior. I can't tell you how many non-LSU fans I've heard talk about how ticked Les was and are expecting him to drop the hammer on some folks. As much as Les' antics get poked fun at by rival fans he is respected as a class act. I just know I'd hate to be one of those that was involved with this mess. Again, I've never seen Les that ticked.

That was the point of bringing it back up because it didn't sound like it based on the comments. You're quicker than that.:D

buzzard, i would like to believe you. i know he is ticked, yes it showed, and if there is any validity to any of the allegations, asses will be chewed up and spit out and then canned if necessary. but the longer that we hear only the "victims" side, the damage to rep is being done. a lie is half way around the world before the truth gets its pants on.

Well, I would have to think that if there is any sort of "lie" present then it has a two week life span due to the September 3rd game quickly approaching. I firmly believe that deadline will expedite any investigation and both sides can be heard and any "rumors" or "lies" can be all but squashed. I believe the LSU players are to meet with police today and hopefully after today or maybe end of business Tuesday there'll be more facts present than rumors. At that point the case can be on the road to making a right and just decision.
