The distraction is already there. The players need to protect themselves guilty or not. It's just a smart thing to do on their part. They are talking about possible charges that could bring jail time, a lawyer is needed.

Nathan Fisher is LSU's lawyer, isn't he? He's representing LSU and their legals interests as LSU athletes. If criminal charges are in the offing, then the players must each get individual counsel to protect their personal legal interests. The delay is likely involved with dealing with five sets of legal counsel.

Time is short for LSU football, but the legal system moves at a slower pace.

Makes me think they are smart. If the rest of Baton Rouge is as ready to rush to judgement as half of the people on this board it's the only right move.

I believe so and a very good one too. He met with the players this morning and already has plans to request a quick resolution from the DA. Also stated this is a case of he said she said which at least means we can assume no pertinent video available.

Baton Rouge police say a bar fight involving LSU football players started when a driver honked his horn at a crowd blocking his way out of the bar's parking lot.
A news release from police Sgt. Donald Stone says the driver was one of four people sent to a hospital after the fight outside Shady's Bar.
Stone says police want quarterback Jordan Jefferson, offensive lineman Chris Davenport, defensive lineman Josh Johns and receiver Jarvis Landry to come to police headquarters Monday so they can be interviewed.
He says they have only been asked to tell their side of the story, not to turn themselves in.
Three people had minor injuries and a fourth was more seriously hurt. They have been interviewed, along with some witnesses.

This is wonderful news on so many levels. I'm holding firm, we are back to normal by mid week.

I really don't think that's the way that "most everybody else" here feels. And those football players are people. You're making all of them (well, except for Landry) sound disposable.
