No but I did sleep at a holiday inn express last night. I am from a family of cops and have worked with law enforcement in the past.
If that video is a key piece of evidence in a trial any lawyer worth half his pay will eat the prosecution alive.
Police search LSU QB Jefferson's apartment - College Football - Rivals.com Police search LSU QB Jefferson’s apartment “During the course of the investigation we got enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for his home. The reason was to search for certain items that will assist in the ongoing investigation and will help either prove or disprove the allegations against Jefferson.” Investigators left with several brown bags of evidence, but Stone said he could not immediately discuss what items were taken from the senior quarterback’s home.
I think they are just covering their asses so no one can say that they didn't do everything possible to determine the truth. To quote the police spokesman they are doing whatever thay have to do that "will help either prove or disprove the allegations against Jefferson." Appointed by the mayor . . . who is elected.
Exactly!! And as per JJ, he was one of the 40+ that wasn't involved and should be considered one that is being punished with extra running from breaking curfew. You said those four players should be suspended for breaking curfew, which is it? If Miles truly believes JJ wasn't involved there is no way he suspends him, that wouldn't be fair to JJ or the rest of the team. Only JJ, Miles, any witnesses, his attorney know if JJ was not involved in the fight. You seem pretty sure JJ was not involved at all. It seems obvious that some of our players were involved in some sort of fight. Miles knows who those players are. Miles should make the determination between conditioning as punishment vs lost game time, based on what he knows. I know nothing more than what I see and read on here and in the papers.
I say run eveyrone who broke curfew (since supposedly it was enforced that night with a wink), which Miles seems to be doing. And suspend anyone involved in the fight. Duration of suspension correlating to level of involvement in the fight. Even up to permanent for the guy who cracked dude's neck. To me, that seems reasonable. No telling what Miles will end up doing, though.
Exactly. It's the time where you have to draw the line in the sand and say enough is enough. We need to be 100% focused on Oregon and right now I'm not sure we are.
