Miles needs to go ahead and suspend the 4 players for the Oregon game for "breaking curfew." This entire thing is getting out of hand and the bottom line is that our team will not be ready to play against Oregon if this crap is allowed to continue. Miles needs to go ahead and take JJ out of the equation, set that aside and let it play out and let the team go ahead and know who the QB will be and start adjusting the game plan on offense, based on not having JJ in the game. JJ needs the one game suspension "pending further findings" in his legal case. Miles needs to get a hold of this now and not let it trickle into next week. IMO.

Let's allow him time to be sure that these are the correct four people.

So Miles should also suspend the 40+ players that broke curfew which includes JL from the reports we're hearing?

I agree he needs to make sure he suspends the correct 4. However, Miles knows what happened at that bar that night. He knows who was involved and to what extent. He knows all the facts of the case, both sides and both stories. I would bet my house he does. He either has a lot of confidence that JJ is truly innocnet, or hopes this goes away by next week? I just think that at some time, very soon, he has to make a decision that will give his team the best chance to win. I don't know that making a "gametime" decision on whether or not JJ is part of the Oregon game is in the best interest of the team??

The way I understand this is that the 40+ that were not involved in the fight, got their punishment from extra conditioning. That seems fair enough to me. Those that were involved in the fight, will be dealt with on an individual basis. That is coming from comments made by Miles in the last 48 hours.

I agree, but not because he has done anything wrong. I think the BRPD has pushed all their chips in for JJ and I think they have the wrong guy. The trouble is if they can't find any evidence they will make some. The people of BR should be pounding the local media outlets right now demanding that the force spend their time and money better. Wasn't their a triple somewhere in BR yesterday, yet this still gets front page and all the attention, resources of the PD. The police chief is an elected position if I'm not mistaken. Someone needs to remind him of that, quickly.

On CSI or 24, I don't think they are getting anything useful from this video. You can't even tell what race the guy is. He doesn't look to be 6'5 hell he barley looks 5'8. Your eyes may be better than mine, I just don't see a whole lot here.

Exactly!! And as per JJ, he was one of the 40+ that wasn't involved and should be considered one that is being punished with extra running from breaking curfew. You said those four players should be suspended for breaking curfew, which is it? If Miles truly believes JJ wasn't involved there is no way he suspends him, that wouldn't be fair to JJ or the rest of the team.

I think this is key. By grandstanding and continually only portraying the alleged victims side of the story to the media, they have put all of their eggs in JJ's basket. However, they've got nothing concrete on which to base their accusation, just the word of a few very questionable characters. Now they are scrounging for any shred of evidence to link JJ to it. They'll search and search until they find something, then they'll charge him. It's irrelevant that whatever they do find probably won't hold up in court; it will probably be enough to charge him, and Miles will have no choice but to suspend or dismiss JJ.

Actually, the chief is selected by the mayor. But he is new to the job, and really seems to picking the wrong time to try to make an example out of someone. He'll probably go down for this once it's all said and done if he needlessly ruins the career of a football player.

So which is it? Suspend them for breaking curfew or for fighting?

I tend to think that outside of those actually involved in the fight and their attorney, Miles probably knows as much about what really happened as anyone. I'm sure punishment is coming.
