Don't get me wrong I think it's wrong to verbally bash or abuse any college or amatuer athlete. But I do not think... if done in a tasteful manner... there's anything wrong with discussing poor play by any player no matter what level they play at. But you're right... being disrespectful to any one certain player is not fair.

    i...was...kidding.

see one day, this oklahoma state coach made some remarks. he was given a pice of paper with words on them and reacted. they gave him some tv and air play. apparently, according to the analysts, he was sticking up for some players. also, i learned he is a forty year old man....but thats neither here nor there.

coincidently, okies fam relates to the cowboys. the cowboys coach, was the one that made the comments. you following?

ps. i obviously support her comments.

I had a thread that was deleted for an unknown reason...but anyway..
They are not kids, they're athletes that are playing at a top school to get into the NFL. And it seemed to me from the game that most of the players that played below the standards were senior players. I said I cant criticize a guy like Eugene because he's still a freshman, wasnt expected to play, rushed into the a crucial game at a crucial time. But when you get guys like Zenon, an All SEC senior cornerback getting beat play after play, allowing completions all throughout a game, and then allowing that TD in OT, is just sickening. He should get chewed up by the coaches because he's a leader on this team, and if he is not playing up to standards, what can you expect from the younger guys. Then there is Flynn, I know I've defended him a lot, but after the KY game, I feel ashamed fro doing so, honestly. I wont comment further on it, but lets just say I wouldnt mind a QB change this time of the season.
Bottom line, if he's a freshman or a sophomore player, it is WRONG to criticize him, there's a lot for him to learn, but if it's a senior player who is a leader on this team, and is going to play professional football for a professional football team in a few months, he should be criticized.
Anyway, we're still in this thing, and we can still make it to the NC. GEAUX TIGERS!! Kick some fake tigers a$$!!!

Hurricane, here are the magic words in your above post:
Leave the criticism to the coaches. That's their job.

I happen to be one who believes that although Gundy went a tad overboard, his basic premise was correct.

Abusive criticism of players is like pornography. I can't define it, but I know it when I see it!!!

Are you kidding me? What the hell does them being athletes have to do with if they're kids or not? They are kids. Kids aren't perfect. None of them are. They make mistakes. Calling them names, and rolling them under the bus ain't gonna prevent that from happening. If you want to point out that something isn't working, or someone is struggling, fine. That's what fans do. But if you want to curse at them and call these guys names, then you're out of line, and we really don't need you on this board or in the stadium on Saturday nights. Go pull for USC, things are going just peachy over there right now.

What will that solve? Our recievers are dropping passes that hit them in the hands, chest and face. Doesn't matter who throws it if you can't catch you can't catch period point blank. Flynn has made some bad throws but damn even Peyton Manning makes bad throws. Our passing game isn't Flynn's fault.

Did I call anyone names? Calling anybody names whoever that person is, is always wrong? thats not something new...but crticizing senior players is not wrong. Senior players are not kids, and they should be responsible for what they've done. And thats the responsibility of the coaches, who I have the most respect and trust in. Pointing out there mistakes is not cursing them. You need to get your facts straight and read the whole post. And here's an idea, why dont you pull for USC?
