Police: LSU players involved in shooting acted in self-defense http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...involved-shooting-incident-acted-self-defense
It's an interesting phenomena reading threads around the 'net about this story. It may be out there, but I haven't seen anyone ask "why was there a gun in the car?" Or, "what does a college kid need a gun for?"
why does anyone?.. he must have had a permit to carry,.. or he'd be in trouble,.. the two "were questioned by police for several hours before being released without arrest".
Different laws in every state. Simply put, in Louisiana your car is regarded much like your home. That's the simplest way I know to define how it's written.
I carried in my car when I was a college student. The shooting occurred on 68th street, a very bad part of town. I would never go up there unarmed. In Louisiana you don't need to have a permit to carry unless you carry concealed. It is legal to have a firearm in your car, same as in your house.
