All SOS rankings have serious flaws, and they vary so much from one to the other that there is apparantly no sure method for determining an exact ranking. For example, you can look at say 5 different rankings and find teams all over the place. There's even one that had LSU ranked 7th w/ ND ranked 8th. While another ranking had ND at 49 and LSU at 60. You think that one is accurate? I know that the ND's schedule was weak this year. I'm also of the opinion that LSU's should be somewhere in the top 15-20. Everyone is going to think there team's schedule is tougher. I bet UL thinks their schedule was brutal, but 50% of the teams in the country wouldn't lose more than 2 games w/ that one.
Your getting warm. LSU had to easily be in the top 10 in SOS and maybe I'm too big of a kool aid drinker but can't see how they wouldn't be in the top 5 but it's history now and I cannot wait until next year.
Not only did I get red for starting this thread, but apparently someone thinks I am a "whiney azz cry baby". Not sure what "azz" means but the gentleman who left if forgot to let me know who he was.:yelwink2:
Maybe it was your mom or dad? Your wife perhaps? You may never find out!!! Just trying to help figure out this mystery.
this is just a measure of wins and losses for our opponents... the stat is flawed completely, because as we all know here, we played all our tough games on the road, rather than at home, which makes them more difficult.
LSU's Strength of Schedule According to the NCAA, in 2006 the Tigers had the nation's 12th toughest schedule. LSU's opponents finished the year with a combined 85-60 for a winning % of .586. The national leader was Florida followed by Michigan, Cinncinati, South Carolina and Kentucky. Hmmm, 4 of the 6 were SEC teams. Seven Tiger opponents went on to play in bowls, and LSU sported a 3-2 record against ranked teams. In the process the Tigers stretched their home field winning streak to 13 which in the nation's 4th active winning streak. Only USC with 33 home wins, Louisville with 18 and Florida with 15 are ahead of the Tigers. Not bad.
Re: LSU's Strength of Schedule All 5 games against ranked teams were on the road (if you call SB on the road)
