It's easiest for a team to be a bust in the SEC, because our schedules are so hard.

In fairness, you're talking about two different authors, mandell and Fiutak, neither of which have set the world on fire with their past predictions. It's safe to say they are doing their jobs - stirring the pot. :thumb:

Well, we can agree to disagree on this. JD Booty has been entrenched as Leinart's successor for two years now, so in essence he became the "returning starter" as soon as the Rose Bowl clock hit 0:00 this past January.

Injuries, as the sometimes do, open doors that were shut previously.

JR is hurt, is rehabbing this offseason. JDB is hurt, is rehabbing this offseason. JR has backups w/ the skills to be #1. JDB has backups w/ the skills to be #1. All that being said, neither Coach Miles nor Coach Carroll have suggested using a QB rotation this season, meaning they'll settle on a starter prior to the season's first game---hardly a QB controversy.

If either LSU's or USC's starter come September crashes and burns, then they'll lose their jobs.

I fail to see much difference b/w LSU's situation and USC's, personally.

Your right. I remember walking out of TS and really wondering how we won but, good teams find a way to win. We have the talent and hopefully the system is starting to gel. Also remember, last year was no ordinary year.

ASU was moved of course then he had a long and anxious two weeks to play UT. That started 11 consecutive games with no breaks with a team who probably had to hear all of the grumbling going on about their coach and couldn’t turn on the TV without seeing something about the hurricane. But, how did the team respond after some rest and some family time….ask Thug U.

Also, look at how nice the schedule is set up:

Two home games, then one road game.

    Sat, Sep 02
UL-Lafayette @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Sat, Sep 09
Arizona @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Sat, Sep 16
Auburn at Auburn, Ala. (Jordan-Hare Stadium)

    Sat, Sep 23
Tulane (HC) @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Sat, Sep 30
Mississippi State @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Sat, Oct 07
Florida at Gainesville, Fla. (Ben Hill Griffin Stadium)

    Sat, Oct 14
Kentucky @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Sat, Oct 21
Fresno St. @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Sat, Nov 04
Tennessee at Knoxville, Tenn. (Neyland Stadium)

    Sat, Nov 11
Alabama @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Sat, Nov 18
Ole Miss @ Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium)

    Fri, Nov 24
Arkansas at Little Rock, Ark. (War Memorial Stadium)

Notice the nice warm-up games we have at each home stand besides the ‘Bama week and that week break before UT should give us plenty of time to plot our revenge.

That said, this year should run smoother than last. As far as the W-L column, I expect about the same, maybe 9-2 regular season at worst.

I guess that would be a worst case scenario since we play 12 regular season games.

UF does have a real rough schedule.

But I also have to say that I think that Auburn is going to have its hands full as well. Auburn has a favorable home schedule, but is it a schedule that Auburn is going to clean up on?

    Could be Auburn.....

Check out what Ohio St. lost on both sides of the ball and you'll see the real bust of the season.
