Earlier in the year the SG sent out an email asking for suggestions for a name for the LSU-Ole Miss game. I thought the game should be moved to Halloween weekend again, but apparently to no avail. Here are the five "finalists" 1. Southern Showdown 2. Southern Shoot-Out 3. Duel Under The Oaks 4. Magnolia Classic 5. Magnolia Bowl
1. Southern Showdown - To Clichè 2. Southern Shoot-Out - This is not arena football 3. Duel Under The Oaks - Wasn't that a celebrity tennis match at LSU 4. Magnolia Classic - To wimpy 5. Magnolia Bowl - Ole Miss can never make a bowl
do they allow write-ins? i would suggest "dumb idea". actually, i am being polite. but i would have to censor myself if i wrote what i am thinking.
"Da Boucherie" cause Dem Tigas, Meh, Dey gonna Carve Dem Ole Piss Stump jumpers...all kinda ways...Meh Yea Sha!!
Was reading an Ole Miss thread on this topic, and while I agree with most of them that the "LSU/Ole Miss game" is just fine (or to them the "Ole Miss/LSU game"), one guy suggested "The Hundred Years' War" -- which was between France and England (Baton Rouge = French name, Oxford = English name) -- being that LSU and Ole Miss have played each other for about 100 years (it's true, LSU and Ole Miss have played each other 91 times since 1902).
