Pete Thamel reported on Twitter that Sources: LSU meeting this week with Panthers QB coach Jake Peetz and offensive asst DJ Mangas. Peetz is targeted as the OC and Mangas as the pass game coordinator. Both worked under Joe Brady in Carolina, and Mangas was an LSU analyst during 2019 title season.
Evidently O reaching out to Brady for advice on our next OC is true and this is Brady’s recommendation. Some combination of Peetz as OC with Mangas and Calloway as PCG, QB coach or WR coach. Nobody is sure of which on Mangas/Calloway and if this Peetz hire even happens. Only for sure is Calloway being retained as a position coach of some sort and Peetz/Mangas interviewing.
Could be Brady trying to clean his own house? Or young up and comers deserving of a promotion? It is a confusing look and I am not sure if this is the level of entertaining for a program like LSU.
Same phase as Bama is in. I call it Noodle Reporting. None of these shît sticks quoting sources really knows anything. They throw a handful of noodles on the wall to see what sticks. However, if you do have crap leaking out it is almost like undercutting the HC.
That would be the craziest most insane climb up the professional ladder for a still, very young coach. That Burrow connect would be a natural but he would need a world record DC and an army of O-linemen to make it work in that gig.
