Wait, is this for real? Nevermind the ridiculously, riducously absurd jersey and helmet. . .they had to put your boy in JORTS!!!! JORTS! That'd be the equivalent to the putting an LSU dude in a corndog outfit.
Navy and Army are both pretty sharp, and neither strays from their traditional look very much. Then you have Michigan State: Photo Gallery I may hurl.
Nike, started by a Duck, headquartered in, Beaverton, Oregon; Nike, has got the country thinking about football style,.... and the Ducks.
No accounting for taste. Actually, I read one of the columnists up there who said the real problem with them (I've hammered this point on the Nike unis) is that its so far from their traditional look the casual viewer won't recognize Michigan State when they turn on that channel. They look like Central Florida, or maybe even one of the billion Oregon permutations. Its a great point. Colleges spend millions putting "their brand" out there. Trying a new look is great, but what's the point if people don't recognize that its you?
Yes! branding and recognition are such important factors butI think there is enough of a spotlight on the new uniform craze that it actually draws people in. I find myself stopping and watching just to see who it is. I'm always interested in seeing who is wearing something new that I could see that being a common thing. People are curious now.
