I'm just f.king glad I'm graduating soon and won't have to deal with LSU's f.king administrative crap anymore.
If you go to the Reveille's webpage, you can read all about the faculty grumbling over his selection. It also raised red flags that LSU, who holds public forums every time someone gets a hang nail on campus and loves transparency with the restructuring process, conducted the search in total secrecy until they found their guy.
No faculty input whatsoever, just like the last couple of Bozo's. The BoS keeps going "out" and finding ambitious "up and coming" university administrators, who are only using LSU as a stepping stone to another job in 3 to 5 years. They have no depth of knowledge about LSU and they have no roots here. These guys come start making foolish changes that they won't have to live with, then move on. Emmert was the only one hired like this to really engage the students and faculty and be a top chancellor . . . but he moved along in five years . . no LSU roots. O'Keefe (Chancellor Clouseau) was a total disaster and Martin did little, would not rock the boat, and was looking to move on as soon as he got here. Bud Davis earned his nickname "Bud Light". The board is hiring chancellors that will appease the governor instead of energizing the faculty and students and running a university. The best chancellors (Murrill, Wharton, Jenkins) were hired from within, rose up the ladder at LSU and distinguished themselves. We knew exactly what we were getting and we got good men who stuck around for a while, worked closely with faculty and students, and did not kiss the asses of whatever the current governor was.
My brother went to a NC school for future presidents in th NC Community College System. After 20+ outside hires, with no one from this highly acclaimed training selected, he took a job as Pres. Of Comm College in another state. Four years later he applied for a job, back in NC.....and got the job...yet another "outsider." I don't get it. It is epidemic. F. King unbelievable.
