It would be nice to have two capable quarterbacks on the team at the same time. He could be a nice changeup after this year with the read option and RPO's

Etling is not the problem. He's producing well, gaining confidence and getting better and better. And he's gaining valuable experience playing behind a weak OL.

    Focus on the real problem(s).

Could not agree more. I was going to post the same thing. He is a good QB, not great, but certainly good enough for us to win with. His arm strength is much better than last year, he has good pocket prescence, he can extend plays and he's tougher than Chinese algebra. If we would have him or someone like him for the past 8 years or so I think we would have a couple more SEC championships and maybe a "natty."

He's still a little nervous in the pocket, but when the OL whiffs as much as they do, it's hard to blame him.

Thin, injuried and young on both lines pretty much sums it up.

Elting is a problem when the pocket breaks down. He gets happy feet and doesn't make good decisions. Brennan did "look" more comfortable under pressure.

Brennan may not "look" as comfortable after he gets smashed and shattered a few times. I think it would be a bad move to throw Brennan in the fire with this OL. Etling is more experienced, more mobile, and is the better QB right now for this team.

Thats a bullshit excuse I think now. Plenty of teams have done it. Only way to learn who the gamers are. Life isn't easy, neither is the SEC.

Best scenario, Brennan gets significant snaps without putting the weight of the team on a true freshman. Etling looked pretty good toward the end of the game.
