Actually, Robertson from Baylor was a great haul for MSU but they actually lost 2 starters RIGHT before the season started.....one to a transfer and another to ineligibility. Maybe another also. Unreal this team is this successful with those amount of losses. So to answer BB, I guess it has to go to Rick Stansbury and his recruiting. The same way LSU got players like Shaq and Chris Jackson. No way they should have come here based on past success or coaching ability. even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes?
I'm actually speaking more about Jeffinbama and BasileTiger, who are very quiet during losses, and only come to the defense of their opinions during win streaks... Jeffinbama is the chief instigator, and to be honest, I've totally lost respect for him after his ridiculous "call the Advocate" number he did during the latter stages of the win streak... As I said, though, it's a moot point. You won't hear a peep out of me regarding my thoughts on the coach, only that this TEAM is inconsistent, their PLAY, their STAMINA, their EXECUTION, and their MOTIVATION exemplifies this fact... There are only so many reasons that such a talented group-and Bass, Lloreda, Mitchell, Hudson, and Minor are a talented group-could perform in such inconsistent manners... Saban's hallmark as a coach was to get consistently intense and focused levels of execution and emotional involvement from his team. Their steely eyed focus was a DIRECT reflection of his mindset...
3rd stringers were shooting threes WE knew you couldn't stop them...you're right we were taking it out on your basketball team because of football....i heard Stansbury told the team at halftime that we had to rub it in on LSU because of football....he said "Guys their football team won the NC, so we have to play good tonight. If We get a big lead then we should really put it to them, let's shoot a bunch of threes down the stretch...that'll really piss Saban off" Outside the locker room I heard Croom wasn't happy about this Get over it you guys won it all in football and we got a chance to do the same in basketball
it truly seems their lack of depth has been their biggest downfall. Those few 6 cannot expect to play every minute of every competitive game for an entire year. Who cares if the scrubs come in when the minutes are meaningless? Their depth has to be addressed and you must play these lesser players no matter what. Starters need their legs for the end of the game. Did it seem as if they had no legs tonight? could that have contributed partly to their lack of hustle and mindset? I didnt get to watch it.
1 more reason for the downfall... We depend on Jaime way too much...... and he won't be here next year!
84-58...I was only off by 4 pts. Needless to say, I didn't watch much more of this game. I can't wait to blast these idiots in football again next year for OUR payback!
Maryland Feb 15 @North Carolina Lost 86-97 13-8 Feb 19 Georgia Tech Lost 64-75 13-9 Feb 22 @Duke Lost 63-86 Oklahoma -0 Jan 11 @Connecticut Lost 59-86 10-1 Jan 14 @Oklahoma State Lost 56-77 10-2 Jan 17 Missouri Lost 75-79 10-3 Jan 19 @Texas Tech Lost 47-67 Now these are two elite programs and look at the consecutive losses. The losses are to good teams but its not so clear that they are better than at Vandy and at MSU. It happens! But good teams come out of it to some degree.
ashdog ashdog - if you believe that saban gives a *hit about how badly the hoops team gets beat or better yet, stansbury using msu's football incompetence as a motivation tool, you're officially the dumbest person on this board
