Starkville's good this year because of the simple fact that they got a player-basically won a basketball lottery-for Lawrence Robertson from Baylor after the bizzaro meltdown the program experienced.

Their players, including Robertson, were all allowed to transfer without having to sit out a year, which basically started a free-for-all for his services. MSU won out, and the difference is amazing...

Yes, it has been inconsistent....either plays on fire or cold but tonight they played 'looser' but i think thats because they weren't going to put out the effort therefore no pressure when shooting from the outside. they need a happy middle somewhere but being lazy won't cut it. that is inexcusable and if that becomes a trademark of his players next yr or the rest of this yr then we can look further into this as a possible message being sent by the players. However, overreacting is ridiculous but the nature of most fans.

    Tirk,

What I was trying to say is if things stay this way.

You can afford to stick with Patino longer than Brady because of
    his resume....

I understand the Baylor fiasco, but why did he choose Mississippi State? I can't understand why anyone would flee Waco, TX for Starkville, MS - I can understand why someone would flee both, but not one for the other.

    Great post TigerEducated.

Could not have said it better myself. The middle ground is safe. Don't you love a person who would question your manhood? I wonder who you could be talking about.

    Classic post

So let's get rid of Brady because your manhood has been threatened by the poor performance of a group of college kids. When they said it was embarrassing, they meant to Brady and the team. Not to you who had absolutely nothing to do with it. How will you ever show your face at school?

Some react to a poor showing by attacking the players, like Bass is lazy or Minor is out of control and Brady needs to chew him out. I prefer to refrain from attacking the kids and trying to figure out why MSU is kicking our butts. I don't like to watch LSU lose any more than you but I'm not going to throw a hissy fit and blame 18 year old kids who are out manned

I'm not quite ready to get on the firejohnbrady.com wagon...yet. I will say that if he don't get some perimeter shooters on the team, EXPECT the same type of season again next year.
I'm clamoring for a taste of the good ole days in Basketball. It pisses me off badly we cant compete.

    sourdough,

actually Pitino and Louisville's actual situation is not what I am trying to get across. I am saying no matter his past success, it doesnt guarantee anything. Bobby Knight wasnt fired for attacking a student, he ALWAYS did that his entire career and still does. He was fired for losing annually in the first rd of the NCAA trny after winning 2 titles in the early 80s. As bad as it seems sometimes under Brady or Saban (after Ole miss 2 yrs ago ppl actually wanted him fired), or Skip Bertman (ppl wanted him gone saying he was over the hill his last 2 yrs), it gets that way everywhere. Brady cannot be failry judged except from this year and in the future due to the basic 'death penalty' his team was handed due to Dale Brown.

So, I'd reserve my actual assessment of Brady at the end of the year. To say its so bad at this point is not factual as it has been a decent to good year minus the last couple of games.
