What was at LSU's 50-yard line before the eye of the tiger? Or has it always been that?

    Wasn't it just L-S-U?

Yes, it was just LSU and at some point in the 90's, it was Louisiana outlined and colored in with purple. The eye is by far the best!!

I scanned this picture from the program I bought in 1997. It just happened to be the last LSU-FLA game that we won until last Saturday.

Anyway you can see what the field looked like.

I know my opinion doesn't really matter on this subject, but I like the LSU better. Something about the eye looks weird to me.

Check out the all time record crowds in Tiger Stadium before they built the east upper deck.

How can you have earthquake sounds with 75,000 there, but not with 93,000

    I don't believe that myth

I was there. It was by far the loudest it's ever been in Tiger Stadium. I was about 11 at the time. I still remember leaving the stadium talkin' smack with the war chickens. good times....

The 97 Florida game was a distant 2nd.....

The seismograph was removed not long after that game. Earthquake sounds? :dis:
