I remember going to games in the early to late 80's and there was more than 3,000fans even for the games against rent a wins and I went to quite a few that were pretty packed. IMO it's been so long since LSU basketball did anything that many forget they even play BBall at LSU. Hopefully it will change some time soon.

I had season tickets during those seasons and can tell you unequivocably that Deaf Dome was truly DEAF Dome until the downward spiral during the tail-end of Dale Brown's time at LSU. Those seasons were sell-outs and the seats were packed.

I know that those of you who are much younger than me do not want to hear this, BUT until LSU does something about John Brady, the fans will not return to the PMAC. It is very simply the truth whether you like it or not and whether you think it is right or not.

It is obvious from reading this thread that many of you are much too young to remember how bad things were when Dale Brown was first hired. He worked extremely hard to turn LSU into a basketball school and HE SUCCEEDED. Was he perfect, OF COURSE NOT. But he also did not carry on the way that John Brady has done since day one. That man has single-handedly destroyed what used to be an outstanding atmosphere for college basketball.

For those of you who don't believe me, see if you can dig up some tapes of games LSU played against UNLV, Arizona, Georgetown, etc. back in the 80's and early 90's. Some of the most exciting basketball you could ever want to witness. You can even hear it in the national sportscasters and the way they talked about LSU and LSU basketball.

John Brady is a perfect example of the fallacy that fans will put up with anything as long as they win. Brady is an absolute embarassment to LSU and to the pride we hold for LSU - from his antics on the court and off the court to the method in which he handles his players. I have never witnessed, in any sport, a coach run off more players than Brady has managed to do - AND CONTINUES TO DO. That is NOT the kind of behavior that LSU fans support.

Bash me if you want, but I was there, I saw it happen, and I saw the destruction. I am, unfortunately, no longer in Baton Rouge so my not having tickets or not showing up is because I am not there BUT if you ask me to be honest, I would not be a season ticketholder if I were there right now. I want to be proud of EVERYONE who represents and wears the purple and gold. I am NOT proud of John Brady and cannot and never will support him. Many, many thousands of LSU fans obviously agree because they are showing their feelings in the only way they know how - by not showing up.

Do they miss the "good ole days" of LSU basketball - You bet they do. But they are tired of Skip Bertman accepting the mediocrity of LSU Basketball as it has been under John Brady. If it weren't for Butch Pierre, I shudder to think how bad things would be. The fans don't want perfection to return, they just want a man heading the program that they can be proud of - John Brady is not that man.

I agree with LSU Missing. Another reason why people don't come to the games is partly the media. How is it LSU basketball doesnt have an article in the front page of the sports section today and tonight is game night. I mean people already dont like Brady, and the media doesnt back the basaketball program like they should. Thats one thing Dale Brown cold do. He might not have been the best basketball coach or know all the X's and O's, but he was going to have those stands full. The atmosphere was completly different.

Not to mention Dale Brown was one heck of a recruiter, if we could have used him to recruit and had a different coach, man imagine the possibilities.

The Northern Iowa loss is going to drop LSU attendance to probably 2,000 or less in actual attendance for future games!:dis:
