Bama is trying to get to the third game of the season. Takes time to grow. So far Bama has been content to lean on their opponents, letting talent, speed, athleticism, wear em out. Sound familiar? R-kansas will be a good measuring stick of the kind of potential we realize.

Don't lean too hard on the Mean Green. Please show some compassion. I spent some time at that school.

"Try keeping track of nickel back Tyrann Mathieu, who roams and seemingly comes from everywhere to make plays"

    Gives me goose bumps! "Roams"

Anyone else notice that Tyrann had the number 9 written on one bicep and 10 on the other?

"Chavis' defenses have always been built on speed and pressure, and it's obvious with this being his third season at LSU that the players are completely on board now with his system. They make very few mistakes, and this group is playing faster and more instinctively than either of Chavis' first two defenses at LSU. "

This is the most impressive part. As fast and aggressive as they are, I have never seen a defense more disciplined in their assignments than this group. Rarely ever do you see anyone out of position.

Kinda tough to get up for the mean Joe Greens (all time favorite D-line player) after the historic trip against Penn State and the fact the point line is a full blown rout. (-47)

Bama hasn't played anyone. Penn state was no better than miss state. Actually, miss state would probably take Penn state. Three weeks and bama has played noone. Just like ou. They haven't played noone but the media says they are sooo good. I call bullchit. We have played the # 3 and #25 team in the last three weeks. We are earning our keep. You are playing a puss. Must feel good to brag about that. But it's nothing new from gumps.

You rank the top 5 by the schedule at this point and when you are done, let me see the competition they've played. The world has played two college football games this season. Plenty of time to prove everyone's manhood.

Slow down there hoss...their secondary is top notch as well. They have a great secondary, especially their safeties. I think Bama and LSU possess the best two defenses in the nation...with LSU's being slightly better:wave:. There linebackers are better than ours (as it should be in a 3-4) and create as much pressure as our D-line creates in a 4-3. Do not sell these guys short. All we remember is that they lost 3 games last year. What we missed is that their defense was still one of the best in the nation. Take away the Iron Bowl where Cam beat them to pieces, and they're probably #1 across the board in D...sounds like us doesn't it?

If either team plays anyone worth a crap after the tangle, they'll lose. No immediate recovery there.

What I know for sure is...if the sportswriters could redo the pre-season SEC awards, they'd have a lot more Bengal Tigers on it...not just Claiborne. The whole secondary would be on it, especially Brandon Taylor. Brockers, Montgomery, Mingo, Logan, and maybe Adams would all be on it.
