I was suprised at how stiff MooU's defense was against the run. Granted we had 150 yrds, but against oregon, those Red Zone visits would have at least netted a few more TDs. I like the "first down" pass strategy that Stud is using. Hard to defend, and easy to execute. Though, I would like to see Lee pass down field a tad more. As far as the D, ... I have nothing to add to what has already been noted. What really impressed me was the SPEED! I mean, can't remember which it was, Montgomery or Adams, who chased down the QB from behind from the opposite side of the line and dropped him for a loss. That was impressive. Let Bama talk. We'll see who's telling the truth come Novermber. :geaux:
I would say it was a draw of our run game vs their run defense. We still averaged 4.5 yards per carry between Ware and Ford. Considering the extra man in the box more often than not, we did pretty dang well. In that sense, I say we won the battle. The DE that tracked down Relf was Montgomery. So fun to watch him. Also, Mingo with the swat of the ball that caused the backup QB to fumble in the pocket. Dude is so damn quick and fast.
We are not, because of the one and only thing I hate about college football IGNORANCE Nobody respects good defenses the way they used too. All these ignorant so-called fans of college football today, are looking for explosive highlight reels and high scoring shootouts. Just like I told duckfan yesterday, I hope you get the same enjoyment out of watching Oregon Highlight videos on YouTube against teams like Nevada, as I do watching the Tigers shutdown and embarrass these so-called highlight reel offenses and win the BIG GAMES, BOWLS, & CHAMPIONSHIPS
as far as depth, talent, coaching, national recognition, etc. Elite destination school. Coaching stability. SEC. Youth and talent galore. Unbeatable gameday environment. Rabid fanbase. We are in position for monster couple of years and the best of all guys..........Nicky Sabans shadow over Miles is long gone.
