And all of the worry warts were squealing in the preseason worrying about this defense ... lol

We need to improve on offense and not dick around and go for the jugular early when they have a chance to make open pass plays ... I hope Lee's confidence goes up with this win and they allow him to open the offense up a bit ... We'll kick WV's ass for sure ... But October is gonna be a bitch with that 4-game stretch

The defense is just incredible. Having those pass rushers while still being able to stop the run is unfair. And that doesnt even include the nation's best secondary,

    From ESPN:
Mississippi State's offense got a reality check from the stout LSU defense Thursday. After averaging over 46 points per game in games against Memphis and Auburn, they scored just 6. The Bulldogs were held to 52 yards on the ground after averaging 321 yards per game entering.

What amazes me about our defense is that Alabama fans by an overwhelming majority came away from MSU and our Oregon game unimpressed. Even unimpressed by our defense. Wow.

They feel they have the advantage at LB, which I agree.

They give us the edge on DL, which I agree.

They feel their secondary is better than ours.

    Uh, what?

I've watched football a long time. This secondary so far is the best I've ever seen from the best player to the sixth best. We essentially have five All-American types. Who knows how good Craig Loston is, as he doesn't see the field enough to really gauge it.

Excited to see the season unfold.

    So under rated

I can hardly believe that after 2 nationally televised prime-time games that LSU isn't passing the eye ball test all around the country. I truly think we can be even better and we are far from the ceiling when it comes to our full potential. After we decimate top offenses week after week just take a peek at their stats in the following weeks to see how they played everyone else and you'll get a real appreciation for what is being put on display week in and week out

ESPN is giving praise and respect this year; last year they were tools by any metric, grudgingly allowing that we won at all (trick plays, etc.)--even though great teams always find a way to win!

And forget about CBS commentators, period.

They feel their secondary is better than ours.

That is hilarious! Claiborne, Mathieu, Taylor, Reid and Simon are all better players than anyone in their secondary.

This is a very young, very deep defense. If they stay healthy they will be much better come November. The recognition will come. The announcers after the game sure were gushing over the LSU D. They all agreed best D in the nation.

The ESPN love is strange. Like a hot girl who suddenly starts hitting on you. But you know she is a two faced sl*t. Yet I just couldn't turn off Sportscenter last night. I feel dirty this morning for enjoying the ESPN praise for our D while having another beer. The D is just awesome though. We gotta enjoy this team!!
