Au contraire...you're putting words in my mouth. Rohan WAS ready to start in 2000 (1999 Arkansas game and 2000 Tennessee game showed that) ...the ankle/knee injuries were what forced him to the bench. Do you think he just miraculously became a better QB between the Florida game and the Peach Bowl? While sitting on the bench with those injuries?Even Coach Saban admitted after the Peach Bowl that he should have played Rohan in a 14-3 season-ending loss at Arkansas.

Guess that is correct, we should never give any of these guys a second chance to prove themselves, especially Mauck after the way he started off his junior year with that horrible gane against Va Tech, what a waste of time that was letting him have his second chance. Just think, we could have had Russell playing last year getting ready for this year, what a wasted year 2003 was, damn! :cuss:
Cajdav, When Mauck screwed up we didn't have anyone else to go to. At this point we have 3 potential starting QB's, then we only had one. So if Randall screws up.....we have Russell and Flynn to go to. Thats a big difference from when Mauck screwed up in the VT game 2 years ago.
Also Mauck played in the SECCG his sophomore year when Davey got hurt..and WON. So we knew what kind of player he was coming into the 2002 season. And as of right now, nobody really knows/ thinks Randall can do it.
so you are trying to say that randall, who couldn't beat out mauck, has more talent than these two guys.
Nope, what I'm saying is that give the guy a chance, he could improve just as much as Mauck did. And Mauck won the SECCG vs Tenn simply because he could run the ball and Tenn. never adapted as thay had practice for Rohan the entire time. His passes were so far off the mark we were laughing in the stands and praying we would just keep running the ball.
