O wow...where are your stats coming from. For the past couple of years La Junior Golf Program has been great. Although Greg Jones would not go after in state golfers who werent great. I showed him I could shoot 72 everytime I touched a club, never even gave me a shot. He passed over alot of great talent.
Facilities? Man get out of here with that garbage. If you havent seen the indoor practice area and the locker rooms at the University Club please go see it. it is considered by many as the top in the country. The University Club Golf course is easy yes...But what you dont know is they play The Bluffs (one of the hardest course in the state), Country Club of La, Baton Rouge CC, and every now and then Money Hill.
Do you realize how hard it is to win a NC in golf. 4 of 5 guys have to be on their game. LSU had Toms, Moss, Bateman all of which are on the Tour, they never had great rounds together. This is on of the only sports you can have all the talent in the world and not even make it to the big times. So please no more talk about golf if you have no clue.

letter of intent does equal scholarship... but does not have to include tuition and fees. If you maintain an A/B average you attend Georgia free of tuition and fees is you are a resident of that state. Hence, you can give a Brian Harmon books, room and board for about .25 of a scholarship. That is a huge advantage.

I stick by my statement that Louisiana has not produced a quality AJGA all american in many years. Louisiana has not produced an AJGA all american since 1991...Brian Bateman...That is 14 years ago that Louisiana produced a player that all college coaches recognize as the best junior golfers in the country. See AJGA Rolex award website

    http://www.ajga.org/Rankings/RolexAward.asp.

Check it out Mr. you think that I dont have a clue about golf.

The rolex awards rank the top 30 players in the country in junior golf. These are the studs in junior golf.. equivilent to 5 stars in rivals football rankings. Georgia has 5 of their 8 players on their team right now that were 1st 2nd or 3rd team all AJGA all americans.. Check out UGA golf website and their players bios. That is how you win national championships in golf.

Our practice facility is on par with other top quality schools, if they use it. Been in it and know all about it. Nuff said on that one. Our golf course that all the administration says is so good is a joke. 39 UNDER PAR ...nuff said.

Golf is dominated by about 10 schools that have the junior factory in their backyard, facilities second to none and money pouring in like crazy. Louisiana is in the dark ages on junior golf and PRODUCING high quality players.

I do have a clue about college golf.. far more than you will begin to know.

Wow, thats pretty impressive LSU Golfer. A 72 is not too shabby for someone coming out of high school. If LSU passed you up and they didn't play too well under Jones, I am just curious to see where you did end up playing college golf, if that is if you are really so good. Also what was your junior ranking?

Did you not read where I said the university club is easy, which is why they play other courses. Golf is dominated by 25 schools. Anyone in the top 25 can win the national championship. Anyone in the field can win a major. Its called fluke rounds. Look at Minnesota and look at Ben Curtis.

My parents said the only school I could go to was LSU. I turned down a couple of scholarships to walk on. Every year was the same ole story with Jones, sorry no walk ons.

Thats because some people do not play in those events. All I see is about 6-7 events which are non-ajga events which are counted on ranking. I know I never played in them. We have many of players from La who if have played in these events would have easily been all americans.

LSU GOLFER you are so wrong. One of my best friends, Chip Lee, walked onto the team. Here is the write up on LSU Sports.net under his bio. He played under Greg Jones.

A former walk-on to the program who earned a scholarship prior to the 2000-01 season ... Lee had two fine seasons for the Tigers before graduating this past May in just three years with a degree in finance ... Lee played in five tournaments during his career, two in 2000-01 and three in the 2001-02 season ... Had one round under par in his two-year career, an even-par 72 at the Country Club of Louisiana in October of 2001 ... The 72 came in the final round of the tournament and was part of Lee's career-lowest tournament (224) as he came in tied for 51st place individually ... Best finish of Lee's career was a 36th-place tie at the 2000 Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate in which Lee fired a 10-over par 226 ... Was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll in each of his two seasons in Baton Rouge ... Lee had a 3.37 gpa in 2002 ...
