Funny story especially if you are not a Lou Holtz fan...I am NOT. He was coaching at S Carolina...I was on vacation driving around the Carolinas listening to local sports radio. This was one of the years his punter was averaging like 30 yards per punt and when the FG kicker attempted one, if the net was broken, all the fans to avoid being hit by the football seated themselves between the uprights. They lost game after game due to punting and placekicking. The callers were pissed off! And of course, the subject of the story was that Holtz doesn't believe in scholarships for kickers. So I guess he doesn't mind losing games due to kicking as long as none of those incompetent players are on scholarship.
