If they want to invite ND, we should tell them we want to play the best team available and try to get invited to the Orange Bowl to play Wake Forest! :hihi:

Not only have we done a good job selling ourselves, but the thing really does speak for itself. LSU has never been to the Rose Bowl, and some of us who have been around awhile, like me (graduated in 1990), feel like we may never go again. After all, the traditional model has precluded us from getting to Pasadena on Jan 1. So of course the excitement level is high. Long time LSU fans just had to know that our BCS title run three years ago may be something not to be seen for many years to come (hopefully it would be, but old-schoolers go on history). Same is true with the Rose Bowl. The last La. school to play in the Rose Bowl (yeah, it happened!) was Tulane in 1932, and they lost to USC that year. Gee. Other than that, one SEC school has ever graced the Rose Bowl. By now, everyone knows that it was Bama in 1946. Even under the current system, it is not necessarily a lock or even easy that another SEC team will return to the Rose Bowl anytime soon. It's easier than it was before, but it will likely still be rare. For those reasons, I have to be there, even if I can't be in the stadium come game time, I'll be outside. Of course, living nearby helps. Now if I can just get finished with this job and get back to OC, I'll be good to go. I don't like the current project I am on for work. Blah, blah, blah. Give me my LSU football, baby! :hihi:

The last number I've heard was 32,000. I can't for the life of me figure out how the airlines are going to accommodate that, when you consider probably 3/4 of those folks will be coming from Louisiana and Texas.

I'm sure fans will be traveling on different days ... Fri, Sat and Sun. The bitch will be the return flight on Tuesday.

Speaking of bitch ... I first checked flights from BR to LA on Monday. The cheapest flight was $350. It has gone up every day since then. This morning is $623. You know I love capitalism, but not at my expense!
