Dude, I got a hamburger from McDonad's once and the burger didn't look like the one on the menu.

this ran through my head as an effective example as well, but i decided to go the hooker route to spice it up.

Have you seen those horrible "Love Purple, Live Gold" commercials? Anyone who ever attended LSU knows how much those have falsified reality, but that is the very basis of marketing.

the tragedy of this story is that they use porn stars on those flyers, so i know their names already. i tell my friends "there is no way hootie mcjuggs (or whatever her porn name is) is the actual hooker!" and my friends taunt me because i know way too much about which porn star is which.

That's not nearly as profound as you probably think it is. It's not as if there were different symbols from various religions displayed and they elected to edit out the crucifices.

And even then, they're vastly superior to the "Welcome to the Now" campaign they did a few years ago. That had to be the bottom of the barrel of ad campaigns.

It is what it is.....and I think it's ridiculous that it was done, my opinion is it was done to satisfy the growing sensitivites of the general public and it just opens the door for more, someone will be offended by purple and gold if it keeps heading this way.....

Your efforts to derail this thread are to be commended and funny, which as you know is not like you. :)

Maybe the University isn't allowed to be affiliated or represented by one specific religion. I bet if they put a cross, a Star of David, a crescent, and all religious symbols it wouldn't be photoshopped.
