I don't think LSU wins big at all. It will be a defensive battle and the winner will be whoever's O-line can play best. I think Flynn is a much better QB than Glennon and will be the difference maker in playing against the opposing defense. Basically Flynn will perform better against the VT D than Glennon will against the LSU D. However, I think it is possible that the backup for VT comes in if Glennon is doing poor. That would add another dimension to their offense. I'm a little worried about their Sp Teams, blocked punts, and big returns. It think our offense performs better than theirs, but the O-line has to make some holes for our RB's and keep Flynn on his feet. The running game is a must for us. You know we struggled last year in the big games because our O-line couldn't get the running game going. If that happens agains in the Vtech game, it will be a close nail biter. I think Vtech will be ready to play.
who says VT's D is so great? the same people who said michigan is #5? I watched the game.. there D is not that great. I'm not sure I'd be convinced their D is any better than the team our O just hung 45pts on.
Their record speaks for itself. You watched one game and you think they're not as good as Mississippi State, a team we beat by 45 points without trying very hard. Sure, pal.
VT O-line is horrid, and there QB is less than mobile...He makes Russell look like Trindon. VT defense is very fast, great LB's, End's and so-so CB's. ECU is not even close to LSU's talent on Offense. Our RB's are faster, stronger..WR's are faster, stronger. O-line is Bigger, stronger...The Key to a LSU blow-out, or tight game...is execution on key plays. Execution is the key to looking like a NC contender, or a mid-pack pretender. Now our Defense Executed very well...its now time for Flynn and the boys to flex there muscle. With that being said, I look for Doucet to get some direct snaps at QB. I think we can use that to our advantage. Trindon on a WR screen's in the middle(i.e. Scott vs MSU). I like the skills of TT in the open field...we need to get him more touches. I can see him breaking big plays from short curls. Oh and deep bombs to Lafell, and nasty crack-back blocks.
The biggest improvement I see from last year which VT could kill us on is our kicking game. Our punter had a great game getting us out of 2 big holes. Man, he knows how to kick under pressure.
It wouldn't surprise me, at all, if both teams scores combined end up being 30. Have you seen the over/under for this game? I'd take the under at 35+
thats about the gist of it... better than watching no games then making a prediction about their skill level. win big win small... win is a win geaux tigers! we are on the same team... pal.
Hope we will blow em out.....but lets be realistic. VT was consumed with adrenaline to start that game and it kinda wiped them out as the game went on. This week will be different. They will be more even-keeled and less emotional causing them to play a much better game. LSU 16-10 wins with a mid 4th quarter blocked FG for a TD return by Jai Eugene.
