Patterson is continually getting better though, I think. I'm more worried about Gray regressing...we're going to need him.

    that would be correct

even in our worse loss to ODU, we were within 3 with just under a minute to play

I would say less than 5 teams in the nation could say that.

Well, one positive is that CJJ hasn't sat on his starting guard position, he's made changes. I think from a skill level, Gray's ball control is incredible, and he came in the door w/ a 30 point avg at JC level. He can wow you, and I think they figured he would grow into that starting role, but his decision making did him in. Simultaneous to that, Patterson came on. He made the change to Patterson, w/Gray off the bench, and that has paid off. Then, Mr. all-around, Tim Quarterman shares the point, and throws down a triple double. Nice problem to have late in the season. 3 guys who can play the point effectively. Competition is making them better. If Gray doesn't recoil from that, and develops some patience, he'll be phenomenal in a year or two, and provide a good back up option in the interim.

Maybe I'm being to hard on them. Looking back I can see Grey with ability to drive and penetrate defenses but like you said, decisions. He ain't Russell Westbrook but thinks he is. When the trees collapse on him he needs to kick it back out and not try to soar.

We don't have as good a clutch guard on this roster. Darrell Mitchell was that for the Tyrus/Big Baby/Tasmin FF team. He was just awesome at distance and in the clutch. We have talent, but it's much more raw at guard, I think.

Again if it weren't for defensive rebounding I'd say this team is better. If Craig Victor was on this team it'd be top 10.

Hornsby's on the way to being that, I think. Pure spot-up shooter. He has to demonstrate that he can shoot with a hand in his face, though.

D Mitch was very inconsistent most of the time though, but he did make some giant threes in big games.

they were capable of beating anyone before uk. that game just validated it. but they can easily lose to anyone which is frustrating.
