Sure, a close loss is better than a blowout, but in basketball it's all about the Ws - upsets happen. Not feeling good about our chances to make the tourney, I expect more losses. We aren't the first team to play UK close.
Nice! I just watched the game on DVR. As always, wore my LSU boxers today. Then, I put on my LSU PJ's, for good karma. Mind you, by the time I am watching game on DVR, it's over in real time, LOL. Still gotta have the karma. But, in the end, they lost. Josh Gray, as good as his skills are, his decision making costs us that game. JG took too many ill-advised shots, and they got away from getting the ball down to JM and JM. Hopefully, we grow from this, and correct those issues. We can beat that team.
I thought Gray played one of his better games. I think UK was a big reason why M&M's production slowed down in the second half; M&M were going toe to toe, but UK really does have an army of really good bigs. We may have played Gray too much, I was really impressed with Patterson, again, and I'm not sure why he didn't play more. LSU could have won that game, but I'd say one of our best team performances of the year still resulted in a loss. UK is as advertised and LSU, it looks like we aren't there yet. I wish we could be better at this point, but looking at things now, I'll be surprised if we make NCAAs. I'll take an NIT bid if we can get there. Seems like we're underachieving. That play to end the game was poorly executed and maybe poorly conceived.
Gray's ball handling was awesome, and I think that is why he played more. Plus, he was playing with energy and confidence, but against the length of UK, it wasn't enough. He may have been playing too confident, and took some ill-advised shots when we didn't need him to. Agree, oddly, one of his better games b/c of his energy and ball handling. Agree about Patterson, too. He continues to grow and impress.
