man, as exciting as it can be to watch this team it can be equally frustrating. it seems like we are just below the cusp of breaking through but just can't seem to do it. I thought we had done so after the Florida game but we haven't played that well since so.....This isn't a coaching issue imo, more of an effort issue until the game is in the last 8 minutes.
Well, lol, loss for words really, lets see if they can turn things around. They gonna make it tough for themselves. Hey, worst case scenario they may win the NIT. When is the last time an LSU team has done that? That is the best I got right now! lol Hornsby is money, the guards just aren't consistent, Josh Grey is really struggling, inconsistent.
I'd really like to see JJ let Patterson get the start at the point, play Hornsby at the 2, Quarterman at 3 and let Mickey and Martin play the 4 & 5. Gray is really struggling and it appears his confidence has been shaken. Let him come off the bench and see if he can't get his head back in it.
But if Jones can't manage the game properly, especially in crunch time, what will it matter if he has star athletes? This team he has right now is an NCAA tourney caliber team....easily. And yet they will end up 9-9 or 10-8 at best in the SEC. A weak SEC.
With a guy who can recruit as well as Johnny Jones, I'm not willing to pull the plug on him yet. However, I have to admit I don't see growth with this team. I can only hope that Johnny is learning as he goes and we at least see growth in him as an X's and O's guy. If he is not a game day coach and can't learn that, he at least needs to hire some of those guys on his staff and give them control on game day.
Did the TV show a little while after Bruce Pearl was given the bench warning by the official, when he grabbed the official? Then right after a auburn player did the same, right after a timeout was called. Was these things shown on the broadcast?
