The things that matter most when trying to make the tournament are good wins and bad losses. This is one of the worst losses on our schedule.
Yep, let this one get away. Easily the worst team we have played in the last 2 weeks and they end up with the damn W
Our lack of depth is certainly showing itself. Why are we such a shallow team? Do we not have a full complement of scholarship players?
Where were all these drives to the basket, along with trips to the line while the game was still in doubt?
Man, Mickey was hurt and barely contributing at the end, and he still outperformed most of the other guys. Martin disappeared, Quarterman was in a funk, Hornsby was solid, the tall Australian was just a big body. Gray was a bright spot for goodness sake. Rough game. No Patterson again, but maybe forcing Gray into being a player is a good thing. Don't see how Martin goes pro. We couldn't penetrate, looks like a bunch of pieces playing street ball. Lots of room to improve.
Like I said, half court offense still terrible. Was a bit better today but needs lots of work. Still too many PIP on defense too. Starting to wonder if this is a coaching issue or if they just don't get it. You would think that as often as they see teams collapse in the paint on film it wouldn't be such a surprise.
This was a lazy performance imo. We looked uninspired from the get go and never really seemed to get going. This team is talented; as talented as we've seen in the last ten years at LSU. That said, they have a ways to go. Good teams win the games they are supposed to win and we definitely should have won this one. These kids can be as frustrating to watch as they can be fun to watch. Geaux Tigers!
100% agree. as everyone knows, the half court O is horrible and its too easy for teams to force you into a half court game, so Gray is key because he is the only one with the quickness to penetrate. very glad to see mickey with a great defensive rebounding effort after the 1 def rebound last game. martin sucked. maybe this will make him stay next year.
