Yep. Hate to be a Debbie Downer but the only ball to leave the infield in that uprising was Watkin's sac fly.
but during the rest of the game, we had a couple of solo homers. i dont even remember the last time we hit one over a fence. and we got 12 hits in the game. the last time we got close to that many was the third ole miss game (11). since then we havent had more than 6-8, except tulane which was 9. so to break double digits in hits was, well, about time.
Unfortunately, it's a definite possibility. Still, we need to keep in mind that, with as many close losses we've suffered, we are only 4 games back in the West with 15 games remaining.
LSU's issue is a lack of doubles and triples. I believe LSU finished with 9 singles and 2 HRs. Everything this team hits seems to either dribble over 2nd base, or hit over the fence.
and hit over the fence is not happening anywhere near as much as it was early on. and the two we had wed night were solo's.
Barring an improbable run, we probably won't be a national seed. I'm hoping for the Tigers to just get in the SEC tournament. I'd also be happy with a Regional appearance. I'm kinda reserved to just hope for post season play at this point. Not to say LSU can't go on a great run to end the season. I'd never count us out, I've just accepted the fact that we're probably not a top 10 team this year. I've been wrong before, though. Another thing I want to see happen is some toughness to be shown by our fanbase. We're spoiled sports fans here in Tigertown. We expect and demand greatness. I want to see Tiger fans be supportive and enthusiastic in tough times. LSU sports teams, to me, have earned the right to be believed in and supported when things aren't going so well.
improbable, meaning perfect? even then we arent a national seed. and no probably about not being a top 10 team. that is definitely. hell, we arent a top 20 team. this weekend will be uber-ugly if those boys dont find their mojo.
